Made in Oregon This is a well designed and hand made press. A easy method to achieve any pressing weight from 4 lbs to over 200 lbs is included with each press. No weights to buy. No springs to adjust as your cheese is compacting during pressing. Many cheese making recipes use a 50 lb pressing weight and a 4 inch diameter mold. To achieve the same pressure (4 psi) with 6 inch diameter mold requires 112 lb pressing weight, and with a 7 1/2 inch diameter mold requires 175 lb pressing weight. THIS PRESS CAN DO IT ! The press is 15 x 20 x 8 inches ,the support legs are 23 inches long ,and the lever arm is 27 inches long. The weight of the press is 15 lbs. The cheese mold area is 12 inches wide by 10 inches high. The press in made with selected kiln dried fir and is treated with food grade mineral oil.
